My main has heroes with random greens or bonus items, some have minor vigor and runes for their primary att.
All other chars are mostly unmodded hero's except for Olias's Sup death of course.

The way I see it, if I actually start failing bad enough that I need the extra 50 health or +2 attributes, then I already failed in my H/H selection in the first place. PvE outside of HM high end areas is easy for the most part anyway.

I only do it to: My main character, and the only 3 competent heroes I can choose from for minimal micro. (Sabway)

+1 Curses / Death rune, 3x +1 Soul Reaping runes.
Minor / Major Vigors. (I'm not paying 45k just to steamroll PvE.)
Vitae and Survivor Insignias.

Call it roughly...25k? That's if it's Major Vigors.

I max my hero runes with all major vigs, insignia's, and whatnot. It's a worthwhile investment because heroes are smarter than most pugs and can help when your short on a guild group. I have them all decked out in Primevil of Deldrimor armor with gold forged BMP weapons with max mods (40/40, +30s etc), deldrimor stuff, or destroyer gear I've been maxing for halls.

If I had enough armbraces all my heroes would have tormented stuff, I max them out like they were main chars, because it really does pay off later.

You would be surprised at the kind of crazy builds heroes can run when setup right.

All 250 of my heroes are equipped with Runes and Insignias. Most use 2 Major attribute runes because 1) Sup runes are much more expensive and 2) 2 Major runes are better for switching builds. I don't give them Sup Vigor runes, just Minor Vigor runes.

Most of them have fully modded weapons and off hands and eventually, they will all have fully modded weapons and off hands.

I have every hero in the game, and they all have full rune sets/weapons. But im too cheap to but sup vigors on all of them, so I just have them on any hero that I hero battle with (for back when I actually HBed)

Uh, why? They do fine without it, at least for me, someone who doesn't care for HM. The few times I've done HM things with friends, they brought their heroes, which were much better equipped than mine. It's just heroes. They're not my friends and they're not my character. I don't care how they look or if they have Sup Vigors. I care about how I look :P

On my main character I equipped every hero with a superior or major vigor for health. I also put a superior rune in their headpieces. For the insignias i mainly took survivor and radiant insignias to put in their armors.

Every armor piece has a rune + insignia.

I don't really buy them, but if a useful one drops, it goes straight onto the heroes. Primarily death magic and vigor on Olias, then the eles get radiants, then it varies.

A while ago I outfitted all the warrior and derv heroes with insignia, but it's been so long ago that I have new characters with full sets of heroes that are almost empty handed...

They don't have superior runes, but for the rest i runed them up as soon as i got them. Their weapons got better over time wile opening chests.

I used to buy runes/insignias for every single hero - but after fully equipping half of them, i gave up, and so now only have my main 3 kitted out.

I give them all max (yet unsellable) greens.

I usually equip heroes that I use. They don't get superior vigours though. (except a few who did, and I cannot remember which now.) It's not that costly afterall.

They also got green weapons most of the time.

Off course I sometimes forget to equip them too.
Havign several PvE characters and most heroes unlocked on all of them does make me forget which ones are equiped and which not.

I have ten characters and all my heroes are equipped to the max. I am a farmer so what else am I going to do with all the stuff that drops that I don’t want to sell, ok I am also a hoarder.

All survivor ruins, superior vigor, minor primary attribute, minor attribute due to build, and the rest vita or attunement.

All gold req. 9 max gold weapons or green weapons and I still have a three mules full of gold equipment.

To those that say they can not afford some things, might I suggest Cathedral of Flame as either a 600 / Hero Smite / Hero Healer three man farm team or getting a run until you have saved up enough money to buy equipment needed for farming it. Properly setup to farm it you can easily make 5k in 30 minutes and as you learn more about it you can eventually drop the third hero.

You can make more money as a power trader but no way am I setting in town spamming WTS.

I've runed up all the hero's it's not really that expensive. As you find junk just salvage out the good runes and put em on your heros.

I've bought a few. But most of the ones they have, I've salvaged. Definitely not sup vigors though. That's just ridiculous.

most of the same, weapons /bonus.
i only really use caster heroes - mainly eles and mesmers. i think anything melee can be sorted out by monk tanks (me) or 6sf ^^
so yes, all my usefull heroes have runes and insignias. never bought any, all are picked up.

I agree with this post. If I wanted the party slots filled with characters with crap gear, I'd PUG. Okay well no, I wouldn't really (

), but the point is why would any player wanna gimp himself by not giving his heroes ideal gear. Although it doesn't really matter too much in normal mode because just about anything can steamroll normal mode, but it comes in handy for hard mode.

only heros i brought few runes and 1 weapon were for Sabway.. other than that, most fully runed from droped, same with weapons. q12 weapon? why not. works the same as q9 on hero.

I buy runes for some of my heroes, but only really for my main characters' heroes. I get enough insignias from drops, so I don't usually buy them for heroes.
